Gingerbread house?

Not for Jett...
He made an outhouse. That is a moon on the door.
Sometimes I love that kids imagination!

A lovely visit

From Grandma and Aunt Syd occurred over the holiday weekend. They joined us for Thanksgiving, which I didn't get pictures of and we were lucky enough to help celebrate Grandmas' 84th birthday!
Enjoying the wonderful rendition of "Happy Birthday"
Only mom would suggest putting a dinosaur on Grandmas' cake.
As Grandma put it, "A bag full of hot air does the job"
We were glad that we got to spend a fun but short while with these two wonderful ladies. Come back anytime.
Next up to visit: Becky and John!!

Tough Guy

Jett had been taunting me to a wrestle.
Saying things like, "I'll show you things you haven't seen before" and "I will beat you so bad"
He ended up with a pink belly, begging me for mercy and he did utter the phrase, "Whoa I haven't seen that move before!"
He got a couple of good shots in, he did totally blindside me. Once! And it was only after the grumpy Pops told them to go to bed because I was getting them all worked up before bed and it was a school night, so I had stopped and turned my attention elsewhere when honestly he knocked me a good three feet sideways, it's a good thing there was a couch near by, Chris' shocked reaction was the only thing I saw because Jett took off running the other direction too fast.

This is Halloween

The Ninja (temporarily "DarthMal" which mom did an awesome face paint job) I will look for pictures.
The Double Trouble
I made Pops a Halloween costume because he is such a party pooper. ( I know he is not a "product" but...whatever
The Skekalen face. This is not the posed picture but I thought it was funny because she was wearing her glasses.
It was a rainy, cold, and windy Halloween night but they got a lot of sugar so all in all it was a success.

Fashionista?

Perhaps not

Mom let her dress herself.

Then they went out for errands.

What up hommies?

I threatened during conference. Like the tape says, "I can't keep my mouth shut"
It takes a couple of times for the message to sink in. "I can't shut up!"
Don't let those pitiful eyes fool you.
Pops is always having to one up mom so naturally on Wed he was transported from work to the E.R. by ambulance, for...getting old basically. He went in for a stress test the following day and he was in the healthiest he could be for his age group and has less than 1% chance of having a heart attack in the next year. So turns out it was gas. Just playing, but we have a year till he can scare mom again.

Happenings

On Friday mom had her gallbladder taken out. Everything went very well and she is recovering quite nicely. The kids were by themselves for about 5 hours until I got home from work, and surprisingly the house was not burnt down. Anyway mom is doing good, she has some lower back pain but she's been walking around and even went to the end of the block last night. She's also been sleeping good if dad can keep from snoring, well that and the drugs don't hurt.

Last night Rheanna came over while our husbands were at priesthood and she joined the kids and I in doing a craft sent to us by, "The Favorite"
An awesome shrinky dink tree!
Obviously dad didn't go and Rhea had a lot more fun than it looks like in this picture.
The finished product. It turned out really cute and it was a lot of fun to do.
Thank you again Aunt Syd, yes for those of you in denial accept it, she is the favorite.
Today during the first session I printed a bunch of Halloween pictures and we all colored. (It was either that or tape Jetts mouth shut like I threatened, which may not be so much as a threat during the second session.) We even got mom to join us for that and some orange chocolate chipped faced pancakes.
I took this picture with my phone and flipped it but it won't post correctly.
You get the idea.

Jett Story

There is a local radio program called "Show Tune Saturdays" every Saturday night they play a whole bunch of different show tunes. The women of the house enjoy it, the men on the other hand pretend not to.
Last week Mom and the kids were in the car listening to said program and a new song started, Enola and Mom couldn't figure out what it was and Jett from the back pipes up, "It's Hairspray" sure enough as the song progressed it was from "Hairspray" to which Jett realizing his mistake promptly followed with, "I'm so embarrassed I knew that!"

Not sure I got all the facts right but since Mom doesn't post, I thought I'd share.
I'm not even sure she reads this blog :)

Pictures Galore

Mom was going to do an update the week the kids went back to school.
That was only four weeks ago.
The kids grew some wicked mustaches
They started school. Can you tell how excited Jett is?
I bought some "Touchable bubbles" They were pretty fun. If you hit them just right they would make a snapping sound and leave a cobweb like substance.
(do Enolas fingers look creepishly long to anyone else?)
That cobweb like substance when rolled looked like something else.
Kind of looks like Jett took a hit of the cobwebb.
A little boy in Jetts class broke his collarbone and needed help and Jett was the one he requested to be his special friend. Apparently Jett also pushes a kid that is in a wheelchair around too. The kid broke both his arms and legs. (This is was Jett told us, and that one isn't a verified fact so take it as you will)
We're not sure if it's extreme narcissism or if she is just being..."artsy" or bored but on any given day Enola will take a bunch of pictures of herself.
So there you have it!

Pictures

You may have noticed I changed the side pictures of people and the top one. I thought an update was due. If you don't like it and you want me to change it back to your old one, let me know. I was adding a bunch of pictures from the "photo shoot" but for some reason it keeps giving me an error.
I will try again later.
Did you know if you click on the pictures of the couples on the right of the blog if they have a blog of their own it will take you to theirs.
I'm not sure I was aware of that
anyways....

In No Particular Order

I put Enola in charge of pictures for this event. If you don't see yourself, it's only because I did you a favor. Most likely you looked wasted. I'm not sure where she got the talent but most everyone had an..."unflattering" picture.
To beauty's in pink. (In my album the photo is turned and no matter what I do I cannot get it flipped here.)
Luring Elliot to me with promises of sweets
If you enlarge this picture I love the look Chris is giving Taylor.
Ahhhh.....
I missed what was soo funny.
The Ashleys
Visiting Rissers.
The resident Rissers.
Singing "Happy Birthday" to Pops,
...and D.J. and Taylor.
Now don't you wish you were here?

New Game

Jett pulled a lot of weeds at Grandpas house and good old Uncle Bob paid him for it.
(Of course I would have forced him to do it and told him it builds character, but that's just me)
Jett took his hard (well that's relative) earned money and went and got himself a new Wii racing game.
If he wasn't sleeping, eating or using the facilities, this is how we found him.
He would sometimes change position.
(Notice how he is still in his pajamas? I believe I took this picture after I got home from work at 2:30!!)
I mean you can't really blame mom for not making him get off. Every woman deserves some sanity sometimes. He's over the obsessed portion of the game and is back to being a little boy. Well, until he gets a new game that is.

Enolas new HAIR

Before
After

So yesterday we (me and mom) went out and looked for purple(I was not coping Jenni with the color but It's lehi's color and i wanted to get in the spirit) But target didn't have purple. So I got true red. And mom asked me as we were walking out "Do you want to do strikes still or your whole head?" And I said, "The whole head" So that's what we did. And I love It!!!
And I am going to start a tradition of at the end of the post you tell your favorite song for that week or day. Mine is Hot N Cold by Katy Perry.
TTFN!!! OAO!!!!

Girls Camp!

OK, so here are a few pictures of girls camp.(And we slept in tents). We stayed for four days. Four very HOT days. Yes Aimee ran over a squirrel.(story) So we were almost to the campsite and I saw a deer and yelled "DEER!!!" Aimee thought that she wasn't paying attention and veered. We felt a bump and Aimee looked back and saw the squirrel with a tire mark and was flat in the middle. It was so funny.

**Aimee's version. I hit the squirell at the same time Enola YELLED deer, it only scared me because I had been watching the murder and thought maybe she was yelling about another animal in the road. It wouldn't have been a big deal if she wouldn't have yelled. I did not veer and hit the squirrell. I just hit it!**

Me, Aimee, Kareamy(Black hair), Makenzee (Blue eyes)

Bridgely Hodge. She is a new beehive. We go far back.

That's My sleeping bag on the end and I barely get enough room.

This was the hottest day. This is Kati another new beehive. BTW I was a second year.
There was a 5 mile hike on wednesday. It was so painful. (Aimee didn't finish she went back halfway for some reason. I knew she could finish though.) We were so HOT!!!

**Aimee's version: I went back because two girls who were told they had to go but didn't have to because it wasn't a requirement wanted to go back and they couldn't go without a leader so....I'm a good person**

We were Cinderella so Blue FLOWERS
Dad was invited to join us on the 5 mile hike
The golden plunger for cleanest tent. No my tent didn't get it ever
